New Jewellery Designs

I have been a bit preoccupied lately with all the preserving and fermenting from the summer/autumn garden so have not been doing a great deal of making… but recently I had a custom order from my ETSY shop for twelve ceramic buttons so took the opportunity to also make some extra buttons and some pendants at the same time.

The buttons turned out beautifully. The customer wanted them to add a unique and jazzed up element to a denim jacket which she wants to take on holiday with her at the end of April! I love these kinds of stories that accompany custom orders and hope she will be happy with them! I think she will…

The pendants, which I will list as necklaces and earrings in my ETSY shop, are just in time for Mothers Day – May 14th. I have assembled some of them and will be listing them over the coming week. If your mum/sister/girlfriend/wife/aunt/nana/partner or female friends anywhere love both handmade and jewellery these are the perfect gifts!

Sunday Studio visit – Mothers Day

Well, as per usual I am a bit late with the Sunday Studio Visit – but this time I have a REALLY good excuse : Mothers Day!

I am a family of three girls and I am the eldest. I have two boys who are adults now (yikes) 20 and 23yrs.  OMG I feel so OLD!

Anyways, Mothers Day was organised at a hotel halfway between everybody…. they had lots of beers on tap, which my hubby and boys liked, and my sister and her hubby, but I stuck to chardonnay – it’s Winter here: not beer weather!

The food was average, but that was made up with seeing my boys and their lovely girlfriends – who would have thought! And, of course, seeing the rest of the tribe!

But on Mothers Day it is all about mum – she is 75 this year and still very fit and would you believe still working! She and my dad were always small business people, hence my preference for self employment, and these days she runs a shop at my sisters dance studio selling all the dance gear students need, with lots of input into uniform and costume design.

So, on that note HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to mum and all the other mums out there 🙂

Jewellery Set

My New “Made It” Shop

Recently I opened another online shop, this time on Made It, an online marketplace for Australian shops.

At this stage I am keeping the Made It shop for functional ceramic wares only, and the design line is different to the wares on Etsy – so you can shop from both stores with no overlap!!

As with the Etsy store all products are unique, and custom orders are welcome. Being a shop stocking tableware custom orders can include table settings – for example four bowls, a set of coffee cups or a set of condiment bowls.

Why set up another store? While Etsy generates huge amounts of traffic it is also highly competitive, which is not a bad thing,  but it has made me consider the worth of having multiple online presences – well its worth a try, right?

So, without further ado here are some images of the works I have in my Made It store, and I will be adding more over time.  And, of course, some of these beautifully crafted wares would make great Mothers Day pressies! And postage is free Australia wide! I do try to keep international postage at the minimum, and lower postage is calculated for multiple orders.

New Macro Photography listed on Fine Art America

I have some new photographs added to my Fine Art America Site. The images were taken on my rural property in Victoria, Australia, and depict how, over time, the altered landscape becomes organic and embedded within the natural environment.

My Fine Art America portfolio also has images of the textures of my ceramics in the landscape, images of fire, and photographs of urban and natural landscapes I experienced in France.
