A Poem and a Drawing a Day : the process

So as some of you may know I recently stated a new Blog called A Poem and Drawing a Day. Currently I am at day thirteen… and it has been very demanding! But I am enjoying it.

How? I have made it part of my morning routine : wake up (sort of), mellow out a bit, stare at my light fixture until it disappears, stretch my back (coz that what the physio says i have to do), meditate a bit, and then hopefully a poem or an art project pops into my head!

This is my creative process and most of the time it works, believe it or not!

The trick is not to let anything else interfere in the process… which can be hard if you have kids, jobs, mortgage, possessions etc – coz all of this means you get up without having time to think!

I know this because I used to have that stuff!! (no trick to it, just decided I didn’t want to do it anymore! – apart from the kids)

Anyways here is an image of what happens first thing in the morning when I wake up…. think about my dreams….stretch my back, meditate a bit, and then write something down… and draw spontaneously on my thoughts…
